Subheim - Approach ( Tympanik Audio 2008) Subheim is the deeply personal project of electronic music composer and visual artist Kostas K., a downtempo, experimental venture fusing IDM elements with rich ambiance and female vocals by Katja. Complex and uncompromising, Subheim’s debut album is full of intricate rhythms, deep reverbs, and bitcrushed sounds, combined with pianos, cellos, and beautiful synthwork. Haunting melodies and distant voices meet complex beats and luring atmospheres to create a unique blend of dynamics and emotion. Subheim delivers the ideal soundtrack for those moments of chaos or melancholy reflections. ‘Approach’ is the highly-anticipated debut album from this talented Greek artist. Featuring remixes by Mobthrow and Flaque.
Memmaker - How to enlist in a robot uprising ( Hive Records 2008) Memmaker are here to destroy all human eardrums and interface with your women, undermining earth society forever. Comprised of Guillaume Nadon and Yann Faussurier (of Iszoloscope), Memmaker have forged a rare and explosive compound of hard-trance, driving electro grooves, and immense industrial beats against which mankind is utterly defensless. Limbs will be shattered and tossed like straw as the full force of their unstoppable sonic barrage is unleashed upon humanity, animating those torn and smashed extremities in a violent whirl of fists and bodies as their complete takeover of your central nervous system compels you to move.
Ab Ovo - Mouvements ( Ant-Zen 2007) It took some time for Ab Ovo to realize this new work of art. The project's trademark of dark soundscapes and well-placed rhythms (mixed with a soundtrack type feel) can also be found within this new work. Sometimes, these beats are actually just bits - as in 'Inlandsis'. Well placed samples, as in 'Diaclase', enrich Ab Ovo's sound perfectly while not overwhelming the electronic sequences. Especially Judith Juillerat's guest appearance which pushes Ab Ovo toward a direction they are unknown for - a beautiful song which could also attract 4ad addicts. A truly astounding album by this excellent project.
Architect - Lower Lip Interface ( Hymen 2007) Daniel.Myer (Haujobb/Destroid), the architect, the apostle of St. vodka, the creator - he discovered how to use his Lower Lip Interface. Bits and pieces of information reached Hymen Records' office, packets of sound were transferred via internet within hours - a race against time, speed-frame technology and freeze-frame reality. 'Lower Lip Interface' - an orgy of synth-wizardry, complex rhythms and manipulated vocals. Forcing beats meet distorted sequences, overlayed with a stunning usage of effects, interrupting breaks and acoustic instrumentation.
Asche - Distorted DJ ( Ant-Zen 2003) Asche added a new musical direction to his work by combining hard distorted rhythms to his dark and ambient dronescapes. the result, 'distorted disco', was (and is) more than accepted by listeners and reviewers. alike. beyond his live appearances, asche was constantly working on new material. 'distorted dj' is his new full length album that shows the improvement of asche's musical world. in addition, it is accompanied by a full length album of remixed 'distorted disco' tracks.
Ab Ovo - Empreintes ( Ant-Zen 2005) Ab Ovo presents their second ant-zen release. At first glance the cd's artwork seems pretty bright and calm, but if you take a close look there are irritating abstract details - and the same could be said for the music. Empreintes' melodic, subtle soundscapes also imply a 'bright' mood - but soon rhythmic pulses take over and one will realise that the first impression is deceiving. As malicious as quicksand, the ten tracks will imprint your thoughts, your dreams, your senses.
Sonar - Alien Overdrive ( Ant-Zen 2006) Alien overdrive displays Sonar's professional skill in diversifying a well known style of industrial music, making it fresh and exiting. The straightness of the tracks works perfectly as a catalyst that makes you move your body. Then again, this music's specific feature is displayed subliminally. The more often you will listen to it, the more you will discover. This is the first Sonar release on ant zen in almost a decade - play at maximum volume!
Detritus - Thresholds ( Ad Noiseam 2006) One hard step forward: “Thresholds”, a prolongation of Detritus's second full length album (the acclaimed “Origin”), sees David Dando-Moore contract his beats and infusing his tracks with newly found, harder and drier sounds. Crystal-clear, melodic and dynamic, Detritus's sound widens again with “Thresholds”, mixing ardour and melancholy as never before.
W.A.S.T.E - This is what we seek ( Sistinas Records 2006) W.A.S.T.E, the rhythmic noise project comprised of duo, was established in 2003. After a small hiatus, W.A.S.T.E. If entropy is our fate, then this thermodynamic duo will lead us to it dancing. W.A.S.T.E will without a doubt please fans of Terrorfakt & Winterkälte.
This Morn´Omina - 7 years of famine ( Ant-Zen 2002) Imagine someone stealing small bits from other genres - genres as diverse as tribal, ritual, techno and powerful rhythmic industrial. Now, what if all this was added up and merged into one unique style? - would this sound good? probably not, but strangely enough it works brilliantly for this morn' omina.'7 years of famine' takes us into a highly visual aurora of darkness, aggression, pain, and contentment - all via lost and forgotten tribal styles of the past that are layered with present day hypnotic rhythms and dark atmospheres. Including the smash club hit One Eyed Man
Synkro - Synkro ( Sublight records 2004) Hard hitting and distorted mixture of rhythmic noise and broken rhythms, ending in a very aggressive album of dancefloor-oriented noisy beats, samples and breaks. This artists's debut might appeal as much to fans of classic rhythmic noise as to the ones of very distorted breaks.
Control System - Erkenntnis ( Pro Noize 2005) The debut album from German three man Industrial project Cotrol-System ( presented on the back of their massive German Alternative / Industrial club track "Apollo 666" ) "Erkenntnis" combines elements of rhythmic Industrial with harsh Noise Attacks and carefully chosen, unusual sound-solutions ! Control-System can easily be compared with well-established Industrial-acts such as SONAR, WINTERKÄLTE, XOTOX or SHNARPH! A promising newcomer with one goal : To fill the dancefloors of the Industrial scene !
Terrorfakt - Teethgrinder ( Metropolis Records 2006) Crunchy, harsh, trance, rhythmic, noise, acidic, violent, and unavoidable are all words that have been used to describe the music of Terrorfakt. The New York City based artist has been grafting infectious and innovative power noise since 2001. Their corrosive music has re-invented and infused the noise and trance genres of electronic music with fresh ideas and influences. With the most raging album you'll hear this year, Terrorfakt has reached unprecedented levels with the seething Teethgrinder.
ESA - Devotion, Discipline an Denail ( Hive Records 2006) The debut CD from ESA. Expect hard, evolving rhythms that will strain your speakers as well as your ear drums. Dark, brooding, and gritty as hell. ESA's massive, corrosive beats form the thorny spine on which agitated, sinister atmospheres hang - there is more songwriting to the compositions, more evolution and intent to the songs than the mindless, meandering beats that have come to define Power Noise. Include a remix by Scrap.edx. ESA´s CD appeals already as one of the best Power Noise releases this year.
S.I.N.A - Nie Und Nimmer ( Hands Productions 2006) S.I.N.A returns ! the charismatic singer from PzychoBitch is back with her second full-length Album ! Larvae - Fashion Victim ( Ad Noiseam 2003) Following the "Monster Music" ep, here comes an album full of powerful beats, heavy basses, uncommon diversity and a obvious skill for strong compositions. A very coherent, catchy and massive album which sees Larvae stand up as a band which has a lot to offer.
Iszoloscope - The Audient Void ( Ant-Zen 2005) Iszoloscope´s work can be defined as a combination of dark fearful ambient soundscapes and heavy rhythmic beat assaults. Some of Iszoloscope's releases, f.e. 'Aquifére' and 'Les Gorges Des Limbes', are located in the 'ambient' sector, while albums like 'Coagulating Wreckage' and 'Au Seuil Du Nèant' also target the rhythmic region. On 'the audient void', yann takes the 'au seuil du néant's concept one step further. An ultimate listening experience for industrial enthusiasts - highly recommended.
Klangstabil - Taking nothing seriously ( Ant-Zen 2004) The music on Taking Nothing Seriously is very emotional and personal. There is also a lot of variation on the CD; there is everything from great ambient tunes to hellish, distorted industrial madness reminiscent of powernoise band Haus Arafna - especially tracks like "Kill All Lifeforms" and "Push Yourself". Still Klangstabil also manages to weave atmospheric and melodic structures into the inferno, and this gives the whole album a lurking feeling of despair underneath the aggressive waves of sound.
Pneumatic Detach - Viscera ( Hive Records 2005) Brand new full length album by this underground phenomenon. A fuller, faster, more forceful PD sound, vis·cer·a is essential listening. Pneumatic Detach pound raw beat and ominous alien atmospheres into hungry audio aggression and paranoia. This is an album that evolves over time, intricate and surprising, and one that will stay in your CD player a long, long time. Great Power Noise with a sound inbetween Converter & Larvae.

Synapscape VS Asche - Scenes From A Galtons Walk ( Ant-Zen 2006) 7 tracks by Synapscape and 6 tracks from Asche - this could have been 2 new cd-EP´s. Well, here you get 1 new full-time cd instead!. Totakeke - At The Train Station On A Saturday evening ( Frozen Empire Media 2004) With this release, Totakeke serve up layers of spacey ambience combined with pulsating synth sequences and infectious, slowly evolving rhythmic patterns that permeate the mix. The overalll sound of Totakeke is difficult to define, yet easy to please as this brand of dark electronica crosses and covers many styles making for a diverse and truly unique listening experience. Totakeke is Frank Mokros who is also the project Synth-Etik ( Hands Productions)
Wai Pi Wai - Wai Pi Wai ( Hands Productions 2004) Electronic project from the twisted minds behind AH-CAMA SOTZ and POWDER PUSSY ( Herman Klapholz ), MIMETIC and VON MAGNET ( Jerome Soudan ). Packaged in a Hands paper-pack printed on special metal paper, '' Wai Pi Wai'' combines stunning electro beats full of power and driving rhythms with cutting edge electronica full of futuritic samples and sounds.
Mono No Aware - Kiki No Sekai ( Hands Productions 2002) “Kika No Sekai” is a very powerful album with lots of noisy sounds, loops, and screaming voices in the background on some of the tracks. It is a very angry album, and it appears as though this anger has caused Mono No Aware's Ethnic/Indian sound, which they had on their previous album “Kitanai Yatsu”, to drop out of the spectrum completely. I know it sounds weird for a Power Noise band, but Mono No Aware is strangely melodic somehow, and they've quite frankly made one of the best Power Noise albums I ever have heard. Include the club hit "After The Experiment"
S.K.E.T. - Aktivist ( Hands Productions 2005) Another fine discovery on the legendary Hands label. S.K.E.T. present "Aktivist" a magical blend of electro, industrial and rhyhtm'n'noise with weird vocal samples, great electronic sounds and driving beats - in total 12 tracks of pure energy for industrial clubs. An electro and industrial dance massacre for fans of Mono No Aware, 5F_55 and Punch Inc.
